Every website needs a place to live! If you are looking for a new home for your website, you have found a reliable home at ISOCNET. In order to move your hosting, there are a few essential pieces of information you need.
Domain Name Registrar Information
Your domain name is your website address, like www.isoc.net. You most likely purchased your domain name from a Registrar. We will need your Registrar information to change your Domain Name Servers to ours.
What if you don’t know who your Registrar is? You can do a look up here https://mxtoolbox.com/Whois.aspx to find out who the Registrar is.
What if you don’t want to change your DNS? You don’t have to, and as long as we or you have access to your current DNS provider, we can make the change to tell the world where your new site home lives.
Copy of your Website Files
In order to move your website files to our servers, we need a copy of them. We can can move the files for you, but need access to your current hosting provider. They would provide us with information such as:
- WordPress Admin Access
- FTP Access
- Control Panel Access
- Database Access
With those credentials, we can get a copy of your website.
Email Access
If you are also moving your emails with your hosting, we would also need access to your emails so we can migrate them with ease. This will allow you to seamlessly make the switch, yet keep all of the emails and contacts.
What Happens Next?
Once we have the information we need, we will set up a stage site to test your website. Once approved, you just tell us when to make the change and it is done! If an email migration is included there may be other tasks. It will depend on what email platform you are currently on. It could be as simple as a click in your Microsoft 365 tenant to a hands on migration with our team from your email program.
