Mail Migrations

No matter what email system you are coming from, our Microsoft 365 Migration experts will migrate all of your email data into the Microsoft 365 Cloud. Your email, contacts, calendars, and tasks will be migrated into your new Microsoft 365 account. Our checklist will allow us to address all of your email boxes and plan out the set up and migration. Once the migration is scheduled, our team will make sure everyone is set up and email is flowing as desired.  This includes all devices, even mobile devices, and that multi-factor authentication (MFA) is properly working and set up for each user.

OneDrive Migrations

Think as OneDrive as your new C:/ Drive. This is your personal cloud storage that you can access from anywhere, anytime. We will migrate and sync all of your C:/Drive (or user drive) and desktop files to OneDrive. Once the files are migrated, we will train you how to easily save, change, and view your files. If your organization allows it, you may also share large files with people outside of your organization. This can eliminate third party apps like DropBox for large file sharing. Version control is turned on you can save past changes or revert back if desired.

Server Migrations

Whether you have an in-house server or a cloud server that hosts all of your user files and shared files, our migration team will set up your SharePoint sites to match the existing server permissions. All files are migrated and synced. Each user can choose what files they want synced to their desktop vs accessing them through a web browser. When the files are synced, they are available through your file explorer.  Our team will mimic your existing permissions on the SharePoint site.  We will guide you through workflow set ups if desired and more!  When you are ready to get rid of all of your in-house servers, including your Domain Controller/Active Directory, we can take care of that too!  We can help simplify your network while increasing your security.

Software Downloads

If you choose to take advantage of downloading a current version of the Microsoft Office Suite, our team will install the new software when you connect to the new environment.  The Office Suite includes:  Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Access, and Publisher.  Users can at anytime download the same software through the Microsoft portal on secondary devices.  Depending on your plan, we will install OneDrive and Microsoft Teams onto the devices.  The latest software gives you newest features available and is backwards compatible.  Meaning if you have older versions of files, you still can work with them in compatibility mode.

How Does a Microsoft 365 Migration Work?

As the first step in a Microsoft 365 migration, your dedicated project manager will go through the migration checklist and set expectations. This will ensure the set up meets your requirements. Our experienced team will guide you through the licensing so you get all of the features your business needs. Each phase of the migration will be planned out in detail and scheduled accordingly, from setting up your new environment to migrating your data to reconfiguring your systems to connect to the new systems. You can choose from a variety of Microsoft 365 training plans to suit your needs the day you go live. This can be with an administrator, in a group setting, or one-on-one training with each user.

What to Expect After a Microsoft 365 Migration

Once your Microsoft 365 migration is completed, your systems will be reconnected to the new email and file systems. Training can increase your user adoption time so everyone is productive day 1. Most users find it easy, as the systems are there and automated. If you use Outlook prior to the migration, not much will change, except you will have more features. With our Microsoft 365 support plans, if you have any questions or issues that may arise, our team is a phone call or email away to work through any users’ needs. Having a dedicated support team for all your users makes working through changes easy.

The migration can depend on how much data you have and your Internet Connection Speed. It can take hours or days. Most migrations can be completed over a weekend, but some can take longer.

Depending on the size of a file server, it can take longer than an email migration. When you are dealing with Terabytes of data, it may take days to migrate. In addition, the complexity of the file server and naming convention, may require more manual interventions that can take time. For larger file systems, it can take a week or two.

Yes, you will be able to work as you normally do during a file migration. The files will sync in the background. If completed during business hours, the migration may be paused or take a back seat to not impact your Internet Connectivity or productivity. Files will continue to sync in the background, so all your changes will eventually be copied to the new environment.

There are multiple migration types. Some allow you to access your email, as a program syncs your email in the background. That is not available for all migration types. If it is not, then you may not have access to your old email during the migration. However, you will be able to access all new emails coming in through the outlook web app. These types of migrations often take place during your off hours, so you do not have to be impacted. You leave one day, and the next day, you are connected to the new system.
