How do I know if I need server hosting?
The most common reasons that a business will need a server hosting include:
- You have your own business line of application that you want to keep private to your business (i.e. ERP system)
- Your website is too large or resource intensive to run on a shared server, so you need your own.
- You have other privacy requirements that require you to have your own server and/or network rules.
What is the difference between a dedicated and virtual server?
While technically, they are both dedicated servers to your business, a dedicated server refers also, to the dedicated hardware. So you are on on your own physical server, where as a virtual server is run across multiple pieces of hardware and a virtual server with agreed upon resources is dedicated to your business.
What is the difference between a dedicated server and co-location?
A dedicated server is often a physical box that is provided to your business. Co-location refers to the physical location, power, and Internet so that you can bring your own dedicated server.
Are backups included in your services?
Backups are included in our virtual servers and managed servers. You may choose to add on backups to your co-located or dedicated servers. You may also choose to change the the backup schedule to meet your needs.
What is Disaster Recovery and do I need it?
Disaster Recovery in IT Terms, refers to getting your business up and running in case of a disaster. For instance, if a physical server dies, or a virtual machine is corrupted, this may entail pulling from a backup and restoring your server to a new location to get you up and running. Every business should have a Disaster Recovery plan, however each set up will be different depending on the business risk threshold and services.
