What should I do when my credentials are compromised?

The below set of instructions are made for how to see if your credentials are compromised there are many different efforts to try and consider.

After reviewing a Dark Web Report, you will learn of the following data leaks.

First ask: What Credentials are leaked?

PII – Personal Identifiable Information

These credentials contain information about yourself, such as, name, phone number, date of birth, email address, address, city, zip, and country.

For this information we recommend investigating what information was put out and breaking down where the information was leaked.

Ask questions, where was that data put in that contains this email address? On what dates did this get leaked, and do I need to actively alter what information got leaked?

Password Breach

Passwords can get breached and put on the Dark Web, the Dark Web Monitor picks up what passwords are leaked and the time they were published publicly.

After learning your password is breached:

1. Change the password for all accounts that use that password. If you are also utilizing a password manager, please update the new password in there as well.

2. If you do not recognize the password, disregard the leak report.
